Taking care
1. Always remove the emerald from your finger when doing activities such as washing plates by hand or working with tools. A blow against a copper plate or an iron can break your emerald.2. Clean your emerald periodically (when it’s definitely dirty) with cool and detergent water. Conduct this operation with the aid of a smooth toothbrush. Clean it, rinsing it well and drying it.
3. DO NOT USE ULTRASONIC OR CLEANING WITH STEAM. Avoid temperatures that change fast and high heats.
4. The emeralds have to be oiled with cedar oil each 2-5 years and readjusted by an experienced jeweler in handling the requirements of these fine stones.
5. Emeralds have to be kept in boxes coated in chamois, each one with individual compartment. They have to be kept separated from diamonds and other stones.
