The emeralds are found in several parts of the globe. The best emeralds come from Colombia. Others (but generally inferior in color, clarity, and quality) are mined in Brazil, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Madagascar, Nigeria, Russia, Zambia, and Zimbabwe. Colombian emeralds are a standard for gemstones with best color and quality. In addition, a lot of them are polished in Colombia. Fine Colombian emeralds have a peculiarity as it puts them between the “valuable investments of all stones.”
